Never Forget The Poor – We Are All Beggars
October 15th, 2008 by
Have you ever wept because of the suffering of the poor people of this world?
Have you ever expressed thanks for having the material comforts that you enjoy?
Have you ever thought of yourself as a beggar?
We are all beggars.
We may live in large, air-conditioned homes with strong roofs and foundations.
We may possess many expensive things.
We may sleep in soft beds in quiet rooms at night.
But we are all beggars.
We beg the sun for warmth.
We beg the earth for food, water, air.
We beg others for friendship and love.
There is nothing that you have that makes you better than anyone else.
Never forget the poor.
For we are all beggars.
If you care, then why not serve your fellow beggars?

Good job promoting Blog Action Day Easton. I forgot to sign up in advance and I’m having trouble accessing the site now (too much traffic?) but I did participate with a blog post of my own.
Nice reminder. Indeed if we are in a position to serve, don’t lost the opportunity.
I agree with you Easton. Great work. As the Good Book recommends: Ask and Ye shall receive…Begging is asking…we all need or want something. The key to is to ask with noble purpose, ask that we may serve others. Help enough get what they need and by devine design we will receive what we want.
