Thanks to Jared and blpgirl for these great insights.

@Jared: I agree. I tend to freeze up when I try to be absolutely perfect.

@blpgirl: I love your thoughts. Thanks for the kind words, too! The word "perfect" doesn't have to mean "without error" - it can also mean "finished, complete, well-rounded, fully developed" - and that's the sense I hope we all strive for even more so than the "flawless" sense.

I have to totally agree with Jared, i have to settled with excellence not because of being mediocre since, definately, you have a good point saying we can do better always, but because most of the time being a perfeccionist can result in dedicating too much time to a task that is not always worth it, something i came to realize now in my final semesters of university.

Although i have to add, that yeah in a sense we aren`t perfect and we probably never going to be, but when it comes to a project i see perfection not as when you can`t add anything new to make it better but rather when you can`t take anything from it to make it better and it still does what is supposed to do, so in that definition is possible to achieve perfection but still really hard.
Hope i make sense :P and nice blog by the way =D

Perfection is the enemy of getting things done...it's simply impossible to be perfect. So, yes I'll settle for excellence.

Great 5 minute post. And it was great meeting you!

See you around the web and at the next conference : )
