The SOBCon08 Step Forward Challenge
May 8th, 2008 by

Did you attend the SOBCon08 business blogging conference last week in Chicago?
If so, I have an idea.
If not, I have an idea.
Let’s take a blogging/business step forward together in May 2008.
Let’s each put a piece of SOBCon advice into practice in our online efforts by the end of this month.
Why?
Well, why not?
How to Participate in the May 2008 SOBCon08 Step Forward Challenge
1. Pick one item from the SOBCon08 tips list to do by May 31, 2008.
2. Leave a comment below announcing your resolution to participate.
3. Fulfill your resolution. (Ah, the easy part.)
4. Leave another comment below explaining how you took your step forward.
I’ll keep track of things and report back to the community at the beginning of June.
Many hands make light work.
What do many feet stepping forward do?
Let’s find out together.
Who’s with me?

My resolution: Give. (From SOBCon08 tip 1.10.)
Stephen, may I count you as participant #2, with item 6.12 (tell stories)?
So now I get to think about how exactly I will fulfill my resolution to “give.” Hmm … this should be fun.
Sounds like a great idea. Will do my best to play along.
One item I committed on site to do was create a mailing list by adding a sign up form. I just finished that today! Now, the second part is to actually do something with those names, so I’ll be launching a newsletter by the end of the month. Will be back to share progress!
Thanks, Dawud and Becky! I’m still not quite finished with my “give” personal project but I’m planning to get it done by the end of May and report back to everyone here.
Newsletter – sweet, Becky! I need to get mine going.
Great idea, Easton!

After attending SOBCon, one of my first and biggest changes was to set up a welcome page. Maybe my bounce rate is down because visitors now softly land on a warm greeting instead dropping in on the latest post. Looking forward to seeing what works for everyone!
Thank you so much, Barbara! Those notes will prove so handy for the rest of us who want to go back and relive the awesomeness. I’ll check out that welcome page!
Why, yes, you may! In fact, I have been working very hard on improving my story-telling and writing. Time will tell…
